Magic Millions 2YO Classic candidate Skate To Paris led in a trifecta for Bradbury's Luck at the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday.

Skate To Paris (2f Bradbury’s Luck - Paris Blu by by Murphy's Blu Boy) started an odds-on favourite in the Stanley River Thoroughbreds Maiden (1200m) but only had a half-head to spare from Himalayan Salt with Gem Of The Lochs another three lengths away in third place.

The trio are by Bradbury’s Luck, a Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner in 2005 who is now standing at Yarradale Stud in WA.

Trainer Chris Munce said he was in a win-win situation with Skate To Paris who had surprised him by getting this far so early in her career.  "She is a tough little thing who has been up for a long time,” he said.  “But she seems to like the stable life and keeps on improving.

"She will have to win a Saturday race or run a place in a Listed event like the Calaway Gal Stakes to make the Magic Millions.  She will have a 10-day break on the water walker and we will go from there.”

Munce knows how to win a Magic Millions Classic having saluted as a jockey on Sunblazer, Excellerator and Dance Hero.

Bradbury's Luck (Redoute’s Choice) is standing his first season at Yarradale Stud this season for a fee of $7,700 (inc gst).

Yarradale-bred filly Storm Girl also won on the same card at the Sunshine Coast for trainer Rob Heathcote.  The Sebring 3yo graduated from the 2015 Perth Magic Millions for $55,000 when purchased by Slade Bloodstock.

Storm Girl’s dam Girl in a Storm (Metal Storm) is a half-sister to G3 Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic winner Destino.  Her earlier foals include Moonee Valley winner Flash Black (Lonhro), Ascot winner Storm God (Ad Valorem) and her latest is a 2yo filly by Frost Giant.
