Man Booker is back in business with two wins in two starts following an injury-enforced spell.

The 2015 WA Guineas hero had been the subject of interest from Hong Kong agents before pulling up sore following trackwork at Ascot last May.

Man Booker (4g Discorsi - Morine by Danetime) resumed for a first-up victory on February 11 and then claimed more black-type in the Listed Pinjarra Classic (1300m) on Sunday.  He began well and settled behind a good tempo before racing past pacemaker Great Shot at the furlong.

“That was a super win,” trainer Dan Morton said.  “He’s 2 for 2 this prep and it was a great ride by Jerrry Noske.”

His sire Discorsi (Galileo) was a Flemington stakes-winning half-brother to Champion WA stallion Oratorio and Group 1 winning mare Sea Siren.  He covered five books at Yarradale Stud before succumbing to colic in February 2015.

Man Booker is raced by a syndicate of 23 ladies and has earned over $605,000 after graduating from Korilya Stud’s draft at the 2013 Perth Magic Millions.  His younger half-brother Achernar Star has propelled Yarradale Stud stallion Gingerbread Man to the top of the first-season sires’ premiership this season.
