Skate To Paris was tagged a bridesmaid as a two and three year-old before coming of age for trainer Chris Munce this season.

The daughter of Bradbury’s Luck had run seconds in the LR Lancaster Stakes and LR Bruce McLachlan Classic at the 2017 Brisbane winter carnival and added more minor black-type in the 2018 Princess Stakes.

“She’s a marvel and is turning into a really tough race mare,” Munce claimed after Skate To Paris pounced to win the Girls Day Out Plate (1200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.  “She went through all those good races leading into the Queensland Oaks last year and is more mature now.

“She was slowly away and sat three-deep today but I wasn’t panicking.  She’s picking up confidence and came into the race just in time to get the last crack at them.”

Skate To Paris (4m Bradbury’s Luck - Paris Blu by Murphy’s Blu Boy) cost just $10,000 as a yearling and has earned $262,275 to date.  “While she’s in form I’m certainly not going to put her out,” Munce confirmed.  “She will tell me where she wants to go but I’ve got no winter carnival plans at this point.”

His first yearling to parade from Yarradale is the three-quarter brother to LR La Trice Classic winner Tranquility (Lot 32).  Second-up is the filly out of LR Belgravia Stakes winner Even Astar (Lot 43).
