Gingerbread Man was in the frame this week with 3yo colt Fluro Neuro and 5yo mare Bread To Flirt at Belmont on Wednesday before his 3yo filly Loopy's Baby lobbed at Pinjarra on Thursday.

The Yarradale Stud stallion was the first son of Sheikh Mohammed's iconic sire and sires of sires Shamardal (USA) to stand in the southern-hemisphere and he’s upheld the line in WA since arriving at Gidgegannup.

Fluro Neuro (3c Gingerbread Man - First Game by Soldier's Tale) emerged from the ruck to run down odds-on favourite Prawns Eleven (NZ) who had pinched what appeared to be a winning break in the Furphy Hcp (1200m).

“He’s only been out of the first two once in seven starts,” co-trainer Grant Williams said.  “It helped having a bunny to chase today.  He was switched on so hopefully it stays that way and he can stay a colt.

“He was just beaten last start (by Galactic Storm) and the winner won again last Saturday.  He’s a nice little horse and can also make Saturday grade.”

Fluro Neuro is a Yarradale-bred graduate and made $75,000 when purchased by Belhus Racing at the 2021 Perth Magic Millions.  He’s a full-brother to LR Farnley Stakes winner Neurological from Yarradale’s Northam maiden winner First Game.

Her yearling colt by War Chant (USA) was purchased by John Chalmers Bloodstock for $50,000 at this year’s Perth Magic Millions.

Gangemi Racing doubled up for Gingerbread Man when their mare Bread To Flirt finished with a rush to claim the Schweppes Hcp (1200m).  “She’s as good as we can get her and did that very well,” co-trainer Chris Gangemi said.  ‘She’s no superstar but is consistent and got the right run today,”

Bread To Flirt (5m Gingerbread Man - Naughty Affair by Danehill Express) is a homebred for Nathan Jaskola (BFA Racing) who bought the winner’s dam for $50,000 from the Toreby Park consignment to the 2013 Perth Magic Millions.

Naughty Affair retired unraced and her latest foal is a yearling colt by Playing God.  Second-dam O’Flirty (O’Reilly) was a Listed winner of the 2004 Lindsay Rosenthal Stakes and Burgess Queen Stakes.

Bread To Flirt arrived in the same Gingerbread Man crop as Gangemi Racing’s G2 Karrakatta Plate winner Ima Single Man.  He was bred by Yarradale and has gone on to win four races and AUD1.83million in Hong Kong for trainer Tony Cruz.

Hall Of Famer Fred Kersley trained Gingerbread Man’s third winner in 24hrs when Loopy's Baby landed the Living Turf Hcp (1200m) at Pinjarra on Thursday.  She a homebred for a family syndicate managed by Yarradale owner Lyn Sayers.

Loopy's Baby and her Pinjarra-winning older full-sister Fruit Loops are from Loopy’s Ladies who was among the initial crop sired by War Chant (USA) at Yarradale after he arrived from Kentucky in 2011.

War Chant (Danzig) is still a factor as a broodmare sire in North America and his latest black-type in that category came last Sunday when Uncashed (Uncaptured) scored a Group 3 victory in the Quick Call Stakes (1100m) at Saratoga.

War Chant stands at Yarradale for $8,250 alongside Gingerbread Man at $5,500. Fees (inc GST).
