Well-bred 3yo Insyde Success sent trainer Steve Wolfe and his stable jockey Shaun McGruddy past another milestone after the son of War Chant (USA) scored on debut at Northam on Monday.

It was their 400th win together and came just two days after they teamed up with River Rubicon (Rubick) to take out the $100,000 Nicopolis Stakes (1200m) at Belmont.

Insyde Success tracked Tycoon Harry (Harry Angel) and the even-money favourite looked home with a three-length lead at the furlong until collared late in the Family Reunion Maiden (1000m).  “We’ve always had a high opinion of Insyde Success and we’re glad to see him show it first-up,” Wolfe said.

“He’s a half-brother to our stable champ Red Can Man who also broke his maiden at Northam.  Hopefully, this guy can continue following in those footsteps.”

They are among six winners foaled by Brocky's Ace (Surtee) and they’re both by Yarradale Stud stallions.  Red Can Man (Gingerbread Man) and Insyde Success (War Chant) are also half-brothers to Yarradale-sired mare Quilista (Scandal Keeper) who travelled east to win a G2 Sapphire Stakes at Randwick.

Quilista was purchased by Cressfield Stud for $1 million as a broodmare prospect at the 2021 Magic Millions National Sale on the Gold Coast.  Korilya Stud owner Ellie Giles has bred all six winners from Brocky's Ace and the mare was covered by Splintex last year.

Insyde Success sold for $180,000 by Ruby Racing & Breeding (as agent) at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions.  He was described as a ‘superb specimen’ by Giles prior to the Swan Valley Sale.

War Chant’s 3yo division is headed by On Patrol who is black-type bound for Sean & Jake Casey following an impressive Belmont victory last month.  He finished fourth in the LR Perth Stakes won by Ripcord (Written By) in April before an unplaced effort in the G3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Dublin Red is a promising War Chant 3yo filly ready to make an impact following a Lark Hill trial win on Tuesday for a syndicate managed by Justin Warwick.  He hit the jackpot paying just $10,000 for Quilista as a yearling at the 2015 Perth Magic Millions in partnership with Livio & Renato Divitini.  She earned $740,000 in prizemoney prior to adding another seven-figures off the track.

War Chant (Danzig) stands for $8,250 at Yarradale Stud alongside Gingerbread Man (Shamardal) who is available for $5,500.  Both fees (inc GST).
