Natasha Faithfull signed off Bolton Stakes Day at Bunbury with a perfectly executed ride aboard Little Silver for her old boss Steve Wolfe.

Faithfull is in career-best form and she scouted wide for better going to win the Become A Member Hcp (1400m) on Saturday by over a length from the favourite Uncle Gerard (Alfred Nobel) and Climb On Top (Demerit).

Little Silver (5g Exosphere - Platinum Power by Commands) travelled kindly behind Chino La Diva (Maschino) and Faithfull was alert and acted accordingly when the front-runner stepped up the tempo passing the half-mile.

“I’ve stuck with Tash for a long time and she owed me after beating us in the first race today,” Wolfe said.  “He’s likes to get his toes into the ground and is going better than he has for a long time.”

Little Silver is a Yarradale Stud-bred graduate and had been winless since he last raced on a Soft 7 at Belmont exactly twelve months ago.  He cost $40,000 out of the Yarradale consignment to the 2021 Perth Magic Millions and has now banked $220,000 for a syndicate managed by Wolfe’s wife Maureen.

“He put the writing on wall first-up at Pinjarra a fortnight ago and I let him slide into beautiful spot today,” Faithfull reported.  “The speed up front was nice and genuine and that’s a big tick because he can over-race.”

Little Silver by former Darley sire Exosphere (Lonhro) and is a half-bother to widely-travelled Gambler's Gold (War Chant) who won at Belmont, Broome and Esperance before landing last year’s Carnarvon Cup for Darryn Pateman.

Their half-sister Platinum Shot (Shooting To Win) has been a consistent mare for Pearce Racing winning five races and being placed on another dozen occasions in 26 starts for earnings of $192,000.

They’re the first three foals from Platinum Power who was a Mornington winner in Yarradale’s colours when trained by Robbie Griffiths.  She is a half-sister to G3 WA Oaks (2400m) winner Lady Chant (War Chant) and her most recent foals are yearling filly by Sessions and a weanling colt by Lightsaber.

Yarradale stands Gingerbread Man (Shamardal) for a $5,500 (inc GST) service fee.  Stud manager Davy Hanratty can be contacted for further details on (08) 9574 6490 or 0429 326 904.
