Execute At Dawn looked a stayer of some promise while scoring a record-breaking victory at Doomben on Wednesday.

Execute At Dawn (3f Musket - Legal Tactics by Victory Note) was never in danger under a cool front-running ride by Vin Colgan.  She clocked 1.38.61s to lower the class-record in the Sequalo @ Lyndhurst Maiden Hcp over 1615m.

The daughter of Yarradale Stud sire Musket had been second on debut to Strutting at Eagle Farm on October 2.  “It was only her second start today and to win over a mile proves she’s already looking for more ground,” part-owner and trainer Desleigh Forster said.  “We will step up to 1800 metres next time and then assess her program.”

Musket upgraded her dam’s pedigree – the most recent black-type in the family was Gypsy Frolic’s victory in the 1986 Bunbury Cup!

His first crop also includes the winners Stocky (Randwick) and Rutherglen (Newcastle).  The latter is working up to another win this season after a trip to Melbourne for the G2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes in March.

Musket is a Redoute’s Choice three-quarter brother to Makybe Diva and was a Group 2 winner of the Shannon Stakes at Rosehill.  He is standing for an $8,800 (inc gst) fee at Yarradale.

Yarradale offers a wide-range of discounts to broodmare owners.  For further information call the stud office on (08) 9574 6490.
