Yarradale Stud can complement its winning run during the Goldfields round when racing returns to Ascot this Saturday.
Resident sire Gingerbread Man has London’s Rascal making her debut in the Initial Plate (1000m) and former sire War Chant (USA) will be represented by Keep Ita Mystery in the Max Simmonds Stakes (1000m).
Yarradale Stud kicked off the Kalgoorlie Cup meeting last weekend with Please Mizter a front-running winner for the families of owner Andrew Inglis and trainer Peter Fernie in the Perth Racing Recruiting Now Maiden (1400m).
Please Mizter (3g War Chant – Mizlecki by Lope de Vega) was prominent on his debut behind Madhi Girl (Winning Rupert) at Ascot in January and was working up to a win since resuming after an extended spell in September.
He’s the first foal of Mizlecki who was a Listed winner of the Raconteur Stakes, Sheila Gwynne Classic, Belmont Oaks and Old Comrade Stakes in Yarradale’s colours. He was a $40,000 bargain at the 2023 Perth Magic Millions and his 2yo half-brother So I Thought (So You Think) was purchased for $100,000 by Pearce Racing at this year’s Swan Valley Sale.
Mizlecki has a yearling colt by Darley shuttler Palace Pier (GB) and she foaled a Playing God filly at Yarradale on September 13.
Close relation No Brainer (So You Think) is a black-type winner-in-waiting for trainer Dan Morton. He’s a younger half-brother to Mizlecki and was put away after winning four of his five starts during the Belmont winter season.
The KBRC honoured a Goldfields legend with the third running of the Yarradale Stud Ron Sayers Sprint (1100m) on Kal Cup Day. It was won by Boyanup owner-trainer Greg Beauglehole with longshot Crippalenko (Maschino) but not before surviving a protest from the Fernie-trained Zing To Win (Shooting To Win).
Yarradale graduate Dont Wait For Luck had won the Diggers And Dealers Hcp (1610m) in Kalgoorlie last month and just missed completing a hat-trick on Cup Day when beaten a neck by Decoration (Epaulette).
Dont Wait For Luck (4g Nicconi – Sentfromthestars by Northern Meteor) is trained by Peter Fernie for a Justin Warwick syndicate after Yarradale (as agent) sold him for $60,000 at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions. South-west breeder Ellie Giles has his 2yo half-brother by Gingerbread Man and his yearling half-brother by Ducimus.
Yarradale also weighed in with a provincial double last week with homebred Ron’s Finalflutter at Bunbury and Pull The Trigger at Geraldton.
Ron’s Finalflutter (3f Written Tycoon – Pasadena Girl by Savabeel) is another promising prospect with Dan Morton. She won her maiden first-up as an odds-on favourite and it appears Yarradale made the right decision to decline a final bid of $140,000 at the 2023 Perth Magic Millions.
Yarradale bought Pasadena Girl (Savabeel) for $360,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale carrying Ron’s Finalflutter. The mare has a 2yo filly by War Chant (USA) and a yearling colt by Playing God.
Pull The Trigger also made an encouraging return to racing for Pearce Racing when rattling home for a last-to-first victory in the Great Western Insurance Hcp (1413m). The Patronize gelding had won a Geraldton maiden on Anzac Day and Pearce Racing’s patient approach will see him repay a $90,000 price-tag from Yarradale at 2022 Perth Magic Millions.
Gingerbread Man (Shamardal) is standing for a $5,500 (inc GST) service fee at Yarradale this season. Stud manager Davy Hanratty can be contacted for bookings or further details on (08) 9574 6490 or 0429 326 904.
