Korilya Stud’s Ellie Giles has backed Gingerbread Man from the get-go at stud and their latest winner arrived on Wednesday when Gingeriffic led home a stable quinella in the TABtouch Maiden (1113m) at Geraldton.

Gingeriffic (3f Gingerbread Man - Disco Riffic by Discorsi) hails from a Korilya Stud family going back three generations to the Sir Tristan Antico bred mare Red Marya (Red Anchor).  Giles sold her to a Pearce Racing syndicate that includes Russell Collier and his ‘Showusdmoney’ partners who were ‘Own The Dream’ competition winners in 2021.

“She settled four pairs back and hugged the fence on straightening before finishing powerfully for Elisha (Whittington),” Pearce Racing reported.  “Stablemate Celebrity Angel kicked away at the 200m mark and looked the winner, however, Gingeriffic jumped out of the ground late to nab her on the line.”

Her dam Disco Riffic won twice at Ascot and her latest foals are a 2yo filly by Splintex and a filly on the ground by Ducimus.  Second-dam Zedriffic (Zedrich) also has a yearling filly by Ducimus.

Gingerbread Man is a son of breed-shaping sire of sires Shamardal (USA) and Giles bred his first-crop flag-bearer Achernar Star.  He banked seven-figures winning a LR Grandstand Cup and LR Bunbury Stakes on top of placings in a G1 Kingston Town Classic, G2 Karrakatta Plate and G2 WA Guineas.

Two years later, Giles bred another Gingerbread Man millionaire who became a crowd favourite racing as Red Can Man.  His home-town victories included a LR Crawford Stakes, LR Bolton Sprint as well as a LR Fairetha Stakes and he also won a Group 3 on the road for trainer Steve Wolfe in the Sir John Monash Stakes at Caulfield.

Gingerbread Man (Shamardal) and Shooting To Win (Northern Meteor) both stand for $5,500 (inc GST) at Yarradale Stud this season.   For all enquiries contact Davy Hanratty (0429 336 904).
